The Flux came without warning: a tide of raw magic that drowned the old borders and left the spires of Aurelane standing in water that does not fall. What was one kingdom is now a ring of holdfasts, each with a claim to the crown and a militia willing to press it.
Blueforce was the first company to take contracts from both sides at once. Their eagle flies over every front line in Aurelane, which is how the war got its name and why nobody trusts a truce that has their seal on it.
You fight as one of its captains. The map is the city itself — flooded avenues, cathedral shells, a crystal vein running beneath the whole board that both teams can bleed for advantage.
United under one banner since before the Flux — the closest thing Aurelane has to a legitimate crown, and the faction every holdfast measures itself against.
Old money, older grudges. The Empire never accepted the crown's fall and pays Blueforce handsomely to make sure history remembers it that way.
Holdfasts that broke from the old kingdom outright. No crown, no single banner — just a shared refusal to kneel again.
The holdfasts nobody else claims. Whatever the Flux left standing at the edges of the map, and whoever was hungry enough to take it.
